Display Your Wanderlust In Your Own Home With These Unique World Map Prints & Wallpapers From Photowall

There are many ways to make a house a home, and one of my favourite ways of doing so is hanging up art. Being an artist myself I love to be surrounded by artworks – there’s nothing worse than a load of empty walls. Hanging up some of my favourite pieces made a real difference to my house – it just has so much more character now.

I decided to review Photowall’s prints, posters, and wallpapers as they offer some really original designs. Being in the travel niche, I was particularly wowed by their collection of world map prints – perfect for those with the travel bug! As a complete wanderluster myself I’m missing travel terribly during the pandemic, but being able to look at such gorgeous travel-inspired designs is certainly one way of keeping sane.

Photowall

“The idea of Photowall was born in 2006 when brothers Niklas and Charlie Johansson realised that the selection of personalised wall art on the market was relatively limited. With their technical background and a keen interest in design, they decided to try something new – printing wallpaper digitally. Without any previous printing experience, the brothers bought their very first digital printing press in 2006 – and Photowall was born! A company focused on quality, creative design and custom-made products. Photowall is now an established company with its own factory and offices in Skarpnäck near Stockholm, Sweden. From the very beginning, it has been driven by the desire to create and constantly test new ideas.

Your home tells the story of who you are or who you want to be. It reflects you, your likes and how you want to be seen by others. It’s a place where you feel safe and where you’ll spend most of your life. We believe that the walls of a room affect how we feel. That’s why our mission is to help people fill their walls with more than simply a painted colour. Either you’ll find the perfect wall art for you in our collection or we’ll make it. With passion and attention to detail, it is our pleasure to help you transform your home to reflect your personality. Regardless of who you are and what you like, we think being more personal makes life more fun.”

My Review

It took me a very long time to decide which print I wanted to review… Because there are just so many to choose from! I’d bet money that you’ll find something you love within a minute (it took me about five seconds).

I narrowed my selection down to their traveller map designs, and in the end went with this gorgeous stylised print entitled World Traveller I. I loved pretty much all the world map prints – there are some wonderfully colourful abstract ones, plus the vintage ones are beautiful – but there was something about this particular design that I just couldn’t get out of my head. Photos below show the design as featured on the Photowall website.

Ordering the print through the website was relatively easy. Once you’ve chosen your product you can customise it in several ways. You can choose the specific size you would like, plus how you want the edges of the frame to look – black, white, or motif on edge. If you order a frame then your chosen product comes with everything you need to assemble it, including a mounting hanger. Or you can opt for a frameless piece like I did, which you can then finalise as you like. I’m hoping to finish mine off with a simple glass frame to match the other pieces in my living room.

Delivery is always free for UK orders and it’s super quick – I ordered mine on Wednesday and it was in my house by Friday! I’ve never experienced such quick shipping with decor, which usually takes a good 3-4 days at least. This is something that really makes me want to order from Photowall again as I know I’ll get my product very quickly, yet not have to pay extra for that service.

My print arrived rolled up and in perfect condition. The canvas material is high-quality with no signs of stretching or creasing. I’m completely infatuated with the design – it’s stunning to look at and gets more interesting the longer you look at it. I think it works really well with the rest of my decor, and I know it will be a great conversation starter when guests are round. As you can see from my photos I haven’t yet framed it (awaiting my frame from a different company) so I have temporarily adhered it to the place where it will be hung.

One thing to note is that Photowall is pretty flexible when it comes to their designs. If there are things that you want to change about a product – colour, features, dimensions, and so on – then they have a team of editors that can adapt it to suit your requirements. This service is free and takes just 1-3 days for a quote. It’s a great way of making sure you get the perfect product!

Other World Map Prints & Designs

As well as the product I ordered, Photowall offer loads more gorgeous world map prints. There are so many that it’s actually quite hard to choose! These are some of my favourite traveller map prints on the site:

They also do many other designs, for those of you looking for something different. Photowall offer wallpapers and murals suitable for both adults and children, and a huge selection of canvas prints and posters. You can choose frameless canvas prints as I did, framed, or stretched. If you don’t want a canvas then you can opt for a simple poster, or you can purchase framed prints. You’ll find all sorts of patterns – vintage, nature, fantasy, people, food and drink, sports, places, and more! The sheer amount that they offer means that I can’t possibly scratch the surface in this review, so it’s well worth browsing the Photowall website to see what designs you can choose.

Final Thoughts

I’m very happy with my print from Photowall – it’s great quality, and adds something really original to my home. I can totally see myself ordering more of their products – they have so many beautiful prints so it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ll find something you like as you browse their collections. I’m also excited to use them for gifts in the future – their high-quality pieces will make the perfect present.
